CAD free software - CAD blocks

I'm looking for a free CAD software, if possible for Windows PC; although I'm able to manage a Linux PC too.
So in other case could also be useful a SW for Linux PC.

I've read some appreciations about DraftSight, but lately it looks it's no longer free.
So are there any alternative?

What about FreeCAD: can it support . dwg files, or at least .dxf?

I want use such free software for garden design. What's your experience about that?
Are there any blogs where I can download CAD-blocks for garden design?

I hope anybody can provide me some information.
