'Food Deserts' on USDA-ERS Amber Waves-March 2010

Post by admin »

A leading question about Rural Sociology is the subject of the last issue of USDA-ERS magazine Amber Waves:
The 'food deserts'.

Food deserts are insulated places where shops and other comforts are not so available.
Food deserts are very frequent in low populated countries and regions and it does not prevent local people (i.e. farmers) could work and produce foods; anyway their diet often is lacking of many important nutrient elements.
