BumbleBee program developed together with farmers at Deleware University
The Deleware University is testing the polllination with native bumble bee instead of honeybees. Pollinators are very important in crop production and their activity affects 80% of the whole crop production in Deleware. For this reason a research project is investigating the field application of bumble bee pollination, also to improve their pollinating performanches.
Electricity can be generated by photosyntetic pigments integrated into an experimental photovoltaic cell
It looks like a strange idea to think, one day, you could light your bedroom by means of a lamp screwed at the top of a fruit juice bottle, but almost every plant biologist can perhaps realize the starting point of a research aiming to get artificial light from plant compounds.
Hard time for italian researchers in the Life Science sector
The Research Institute on the Population and Social Policies (IRPPS) of the Italian Research Council (CNR) has developed a study taking part to 'Rescar' (Researcher’s Careers) a more wide European project, about the career of Life Sciences researchers.
The 'Life Sciencies' is a key sector for the economic growth and to enhance the development of the industrial sector. The statistical sample of this research has focused on the more expert and talented researchers, with greater scientific and technological productivity (researches and european patents).
